The Canon EOS R8 is the most affordable way into Canon's full-frame system, borrowing the excellent 24-megapixel sensor and autofocus from the R6 Mark II in a light, stripped-down body. For someone moving up from a phone or crop-sensor camera who wants genuine full-frame image quality and uncropped 4K60 without spending flagship money, it is an easy recommendation. The savings come from real omissions: there is no in-body stabilization, the single card slot and smaller battery limit longer shoots, and the lighter build feels less rugged. If you mostly shoot with stabilized lenses and value low cost and low weight, those compromises are easy to accept for the image quality you get.
