Huawei MateBook 14 (2024)
Huawei has carved out a genuine following in Europe for its MateBook line, and the MateBook 14 is the volume seller. It leans on a sharp 3:2 touchscreen that shows more of a document or webpage than a 16:9 panel, a slim metal body, and quiet, efficient Intel Core Ultra performance. The aspect ratio and clean design make it a favourite for office and study use, and Huawei prices it below comparable Western-brand ultraportables in many EU markets. The main caveats are a modest port count and the absence of Huawei's own phone-ecosystem ties for those outside it.
A good time to buy — it's at its lowest price on record, right around its 90-day average.
- Tall 3:2 touchscreen great for documents and reading
- Slim, well-made metal chassis
- Quiet, efficient Core Ultra performance
- Competitively priced in EU markets
- Limited port selection
